Benchmark Minerals Week 2019

Rio Tinto Field Trip: Lithium

You are invited to experience a behind-the-scenes look at Rio Tinto’s lithium and critical minerals progress in Boron, California.

Rio Tinto have been developing a pilot plant that has successfully produced battery ready lithium from boron mine tailings, something no one else has successful yet achieved.

On the tour you will receive a visual overview of California’s open pit mine and the boron operation, in existence for more than 90 years and operated by Rio Tinto US Borax.

“The magnitude of the site may amaze you; the significance of the operation may surprise you; and the enthusiasm of our people will explain how we are moving fast in the area of critical minerals,” Rio Tinto explained.
