Growing demand and changes to legislation are pushing volatile cobalt prices even higher
The price of cobalt metal and chemicals have continued to rally in Q1 2018 following on from significant gains in 2017, with metal prices rising to $44/lb ($97,000/tonne) and the Benchmark cobalt sulphate price up 27% since the start of the year. Whilst comparisons are being made to the price surges of 2008, which reached over $50/lb ($110,000/tonne), prices aren’t quite there yet, but if demand and market interest around the battery mineral set to continue it may . . .
