Cobalt prices hit three year high as EV growth boosts demand

Cobalt metal prices are trading at their highest levels in three years, highlighting robust demand for the metal in electric vehicles despite the rise of alternative battery chemistries.

The price of cobalt metal rose by 10% in November, breaking through $30 per pound for the first time since the end of 2018, according to Benchmark’s Cobalt Price Assessment. They have risen by 92% year-to-date.
