EVs & lithium ion batteries at centre of UK’s Green Industrial Revolution

The UK government has outlined a ten-point plan, together with £12bn, for developing domestic new energy industries which it hopes will usher in a green industrial revolution.

As many expected, electric vehicles and lithium ion batteries are a major focus of the government’s efforts, bringing forward its electric vehicle (EV) plans

A UK government statement said: “Following extensive consultation with car manufacturers and sellers, the Prime Minister has confirmed that the UK will end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030, ten years earlier than planned.”
