Johnson Matthey secures nickel, cobalt and lithium for growing European cathode pipeline

Johnson Matthey (JM) announced the latest steps towards the commercialisation of its eLNO cathode technology in April, detailing plans for a strategic partnership with Finland's state mining company, Finnish Materials Group (FMG), to support the development of its second eLNO plant in Vaasa, Finland.

Construction at the 30,000tpa plant is set to begin later this year, adding to JM’s first commercial 10,000tpa eLNO plant located in Konin, Poland, set to commence operations from 2022.
