Lithium’s 2021 price rises revive expansion plans

Higher lithium prices in 2021 have started to revive expansion plans with both AMG Lithium and POSCO committing to bring new supply online this April.

Lithium prices have risen across the board year-to-date, led by Chinese lithium carbonate prices which Benchmark’s mid-April Lithium Price Assessment showed were up 103.4% (Benchmark’s Lithium Carbonate, Battery Grade, EXW China).
