Renault backs NCM cathodes as it establishes French battery cell pipeline

Renault is planning to develop a megafactory with a starting capacity of 9 GWh capacity in Douai, France, in partnership with China’s Envision AESC.

The megafactory is due to come online in 2024 with 9 GWh of capacity, with the goal of ramping up to 24 GWh capacity by 2030.

Envision AESC will invest up to €2 billion in its first French megafactory, increasing the company’s European pipeline to three megafactories, which includes a new UK megafactory . . .
