SK Innovation confirms second US battery megafactory as it continues expansions outside of Asia

Having announced its intentions to build a second plant at the start of the year, SK Innovation have now confirmed it will fund the construction of its second lithium ion battery megafactory in the USA.

Construction of the second plant is expected to begin in July and will be targeting production in 2023, and once online will have a final target capacity of 11.7GWh. The latest plant is expected to be located close to its first US megafactory, in Commerce, Georgia, which the company began construction on in Q1 2019.
