World Tour In-Person cancelled for Australia & Asia

Benchmark can also confirm that the World Tour 2020 in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Seoul and Tokyo have been cancelled for this year due to the coronavirus risk.

Simon Moores, Managing Director of Benchmark said:

“It is with great pleasure to continue our World Tour series online after the huge success of our first two events which we broadcast on Zoom and Twitter during #EVFest.

The experience is very different from our focused in-person events – with a reach across different hemispheres and viewers into the thousands in many countries worldwide. This is a unique and 21st century way to tell the many stories of this vibrant and ever changing industry.

It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of the physical World Tour 2020 events for Australia and Asia this year scheduled for September.

We feel it would be irresponsible to host in person gatherings of the World Tour’s size while the global uncertainty and fear of the coronavirus pandemic still surrounds us.

Australia, Japan and South Korea are integral hubs for this lithium ion revolution and this will be the first time we have missed travelling to these fantastic and welcoming countries since the first World Tour in 2015.

There is no doubt we will return with World Tour 2021 along with new, fresh ideas and initiatives to connect the global supply chain.”
