Bob Galyen Receives Benchmark Lifetime Achievement Award at Benchmark Week 2025
Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, the world’s leading provider of critical mineral price data and market intelligence for the energy transition, today announced that Bob Galyen, one of the most respected global executives in battery storage, has been named the 2025 recipient of the Benchmark Lifetime Achievement Award. The award will be presented during Benchmark Week 2025 in Los Angeles, California.
Now in its third year, the Benchmark Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates individuals whose leadership and vision have shaped modern energy supply chains. Bob Galyen joins an esteemed group of past recipients that includes:

Galyen was a driving force behind the meteoric rise of CATL, serving as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and helping to transform the company into the world’s largest battery manufacturer within five years. He is also distinguished for his tenure as CTO of NAATBatt International, the world’s leading professional trade association in the battery industry, as well as for his 13 years as Chairman of the Battery Standards Steering Committee at SAE International, where he is recognised as a Fellow. His expertise has been further acknowledged by the Chinese Government, which honoured him with the title of National Distinguished Expert.
